Anne K. Brown built her career in the tabletop role-playing industry, beginning as Assistant Editor for Dragon magazine across issues #147 through #151 (July-November 1989) before moving into TSR's Games Division, where she worked primarily as an editor while also designing modules and supplements of her own. Her game-design credits include Falcon's Revenge, Falconmaster, and Flames of the Falcon for the Greyhawk setting (1990), Ship of Horror for Ravenloft (1991), and the Player's Guide to Greyhawk (1998). As a novelist she wrote the young-adult title Bigby's Curse (1995) and co-authored the Forgotten Realms novels Pools of Darkness and Pool of Twilight (1992-1993). Brown left TSR in August 1997 and later worked for Fast Forward Entertainment from 2002 to 2003. Following her time in the gaming industry, she shifted toward educational nonfiction for middle-school readers, authoring biographies of figures including Roger Federer, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, and John Adams, as well as informational titles on migraines and online safety. She also co-authored The Storyteller's Thesaurus (2013), a reference work for writers, and contributed the story "The Wolf in the Shadows" to a 2016 anthology, demonstrating a career that moved fluidly between tabletop-game design, tie-in fiction, and nonfiction writing for young readers over more than two decades.
