Kameron M. Franklin is an American fantasy author best known for Maiden of Pain (2012), the fourth novel in the Priests series set in the Forgotten Realms campaign world published by Wizards of the Coast. The Priests series comprises standalone novels, each centered on a cleric devoted to a different deity of the Forgotten Realms pantheon, designed so that new readers could enter the setting without prior familiarity with its extensive fiction line. Franklin's manuscript was selected through a public open-submissions contest run by the publisher, in which several hundred proposals were reviewed before his was judged the strongest and awarded a publishing contract, making Maiden of Pain his debut novel. The book follows a cleric protagonist navigating the dangers and politics associated with her patron deity within the Forgotten Realms setting, continuing the tie-in fiction tradition established by earlier TSR and Wizards of the Coast authors. Beyond this novel, detailed public biographical information about Franklin, including personal background or subsequent publications, remains sparse in available reference sources.
