Paul S. Kemp is an American fantasy author best known for writing novels set in the Forgotten Realms and Star Wars universes. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a law degree from the University of Michigan School of Law in 2000, and combines his writing career with practicing corporate law in Detroit. He resides in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, with his wife Jennifer, and is an active Dungeons & Dragons player and a strong defender of shared world fiction. His Forgotten Realms novels include Shadow's Witness (2000) and the Twilight War trilogy of Shadowbred (2006), Shadowstorm (2007), and Shadowrealm (2008), as well as Resurrection (2005), the concluding volume of the War of the Spider Queen series. His Star Wars novels include Crosscurrent (2010), The Old Republic: Deceived (2011), and Lords of the Sith (2015). Outside licensed fiction he has written original fantasy novels including The Hammer and the Blade (2012) and A Discourse in Steel (2013).
