Teri Williams is an author credited as co-writer, alongside Michael Williams, of Before the Mask (1993), the first novel in the Villains series published by TSR, Inc. as part of the Dragonlance fiction line. The novel traces the origin story of Verminaard, who becomes one of the most feared dragon highlords of the War of the Lance, beginning with his birth in the Khalkist Mountains under an ominous prophecy delivered by a druidess. As the character matures, he gradually abandons his earthly loyalties in favor of a mysterious Voice he eventually recognizes as his Dark Queen, charting the psychological path that turns him into one of Dragonlance's central antagonists. The Villains series as a whole was notable within the Dragonlance line for building sympathetic, book-length origin stories for characters previously known only as adversaries in the original trilogies. Detailed independent biographical information about Teri Williams's personal background and other credited work remains limited in publicly available reference sources.
