Synopsis
Eleven-year-old Samantha and her older sister Caitlin leave home after Sam speaks up about their father's anger and the family splits apart. They move to rural Oregon to live with an aunt they have never met. Aunt Vicky gives Sam a card game called A Game of Fox & Squirrels, and soon the trickster fox on its cards, Ashander, appears in her bedroom. He offers her a quest: find the Golden Acorn and win anything she wants. The game has hidden rules, and as Sam is drawn further in, the line between the game, her new home and real magic starts to blur. A wrong move could cost her far more than a turn.
