Synopsis
Rae, the fantasy reader transported into her favorite world of swords and sorcery who has embraced the persona of the villainess Lady Rahela, finds the story growing far more dangerous than she ever expected. The Emperor she must contend with turns out to be Key, a character she once loved dearly, now transformed into an undead ruler with none of his old restraint and a disturbing determination to make her his queen. Torn between fear and lingering feeling, Rae also has to manage her scattered allies, the Cobra hiding out in a haunted manor and Emer and Lia fomenting open revolution, all while undead armies and raiders threaten the kingdom around them. Even guidance from her sister Alice, an even bigger fan of the original story following events from the real world, cannot fully prepare Rae for how unpredictable her supposedly familiar plot has become.
