Synopsis
All the Seas of the World is set some years after the events of A Brightness Long Ago, in a world drawing on Renaissance Italy, the wider Mediterranean, and North Africa, roughly five years after the fall of Sarantium. It follows Rafel ben Natan, a Kindath merchant who sometimes works as a corsair, and Nadia bint Dhiyan, formerly known as Lenia Serrano, a woman who escaped Osmanli captivity and has become his close partner. The two are drawn into international intrigue when they are hired by rival khalifs to carry out an assassination against another ruler, a mission that pulls them into a wider web of power, vengeance, and political maneuvering around the Mediterranean, and brings them into contact with figures connected to the earlier novel, including Folco Cino d'Acorsi and Guidanio Cerra.
