Synopsis
An Enchantment of Ravens, published by Margaret Rogerson in 2017, follows Isobel, an exceptionally talented human portrait painter regularly commissioned by the immortal fair folk, who are captivated by human art because their own unchanging natures leave them unable to create anything like it themselves. When Isobel paints Rook, the autumn prince of the fair folk courts, she makes a critical mistake, capturing in his expression a flicker of very human sorrow that faerie law strictly forbids depicting in a fae subject. Furious and bound by his own people's rigid customs, Rook takes Isobel back to his kingdom to stand trial for the offense, a journey that immediately exposes both of them to dangers from multiple directions and forces them to rely on each other simply to survive the trip.
