Synopsis
Behind the Wind (1981) is the third and final novel in Patricia Wrightson's The Book of Wirrun trilogy. Wirrun is living a contented, settled life off the land together with Murra, his companion who was once a water spirit, when two new challenges arise. Murra's supernatural sisters may attempt to reclaim her for their own world, threatening the life the pair have built together, while a far more ominous force stirs elsewhere: a mysterious entity called Death, originally brought into being by humans, has grown beyond anyone's ability to control it. Wirrun must decide how to respond to both threats, drawing again on his hard-won standing as a hero of his people as he prepares to confront a danger unlike anything he has faced before.
