Synopsis

Daughter of the Lion centers on Keely, daughter of Niall and a rare Cheysuli shapeshifter capable of taking any animal form, as she struggles for autonomy over her own life when her father moves to arrange a political marriage for her against her wishes. While Keely resists having her future dictated for the sake of the realm's alliances, the Ihlini sorcerer Strahan, a longstanding enemy of the Cheysuli, begins laying a trap intended to ensnare her, drawing Keely into danger that intertwines her personal fight for self-determination with the broader, ongoing conflict between the Cheysuli and their sorcerous enemies. First published in 1989, Daughter of the Lion belongs to the Chronicles of the Cheysuli series.

Notes

  • From the series record (Chronicles of the Cheysuli): One continuous eight-book saga, all Core Canon; publication order and internal chronology agree (each volume advances the same generational timeline in the order published).

Neighbouring works

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.
