Synopsis
Dreamer's Pool opens the Blackthorn & Grim series by following Blackthorn, an embittered magical healer who wins release from wrongful imprisonment by swearing an oath to a fey being: in exchange for her freedom, she vows to give up her quest for vengeance and instead help anyone who asks for the next seven years. She leaves prison accompanied by Grim, a silent former fellow inmate, and the two settle at the edge of a mysterious forest in the kingdom of Dalriada. Their fragile new life is disturbed when the arrival of Prince Oran's promised bride sets in motion a chain of events neither Blackthorn nor Grim anticipated, drawing the healer back into affairs of the court she had hoped to avoid.
