Synopsis
In the present day, the legend of King Arthur is still alive in Mobile, Alabama, a city tied by tradition to the Welsh prince Madoc, who is said to have sailed there in the 12th century. A modern Pendragon, the secret successor to King Arthur, carries the duty of finding Arthur's lost sword, Excalibur. The novel sets the matter of Britain against an American Southern Gothic background and follows the Pendragon's search through the city and its buried history.
