Synopsis
Buffy Murphy is a professional storyteller in Pennsylvania. Recently divorced and shaken in her belief in happy endings, she finds a talking frog in a pond who claims to be an enchanted prince, Adamus, cursed long ago by the Queen of Fair Peril. Only a kiss will free him, and Buffy hesitates. Her scornful sixteen-year-old daughter, Emily, does not, and the prince becomes a man. The two run off together, and Buffy's attempts to help go comically wrong when her magical interference turns people around her into other creatures. Her search leads her to a tacky shopping mall and then through it into Fair Peril, a fairy realm where wishes become punishments. There Buffy must use her gift for stories to protect her daughter.
