Synopsis
In this second volume of the Filhos do Éden trilogy, the Malakins, angels who have long watched human progress, find themselves cut off from the divine as twentieth-century weapons and industrial pollution widen the gap between Earth and heaven. Isolated in paradise, they enlist the exiles, peaceful celestials already living on Earth, to join human wars in disguise. Their task is to record military exploits and troop movements and report them to their superiors. One storyline follows the exiled cherub Denyel through the Second World War up to the fall of the Berlin Wall. In the present, Kaira, Urakin and a newcomer, Ismael, try to rescue Denyel after the battle at the Fortress of Athea. Verus released the book in 2013.
