Synopsis
Freddie Ruiz is a twelve-year-old Filipino American who is sure his family is cursed with bad luck. Then he finds a gold coin that his great-grandmother calls an anting-anting, a lucky amulet, and it seems to bring him good fortune at last. But using it releases the ghost of his great-granduncle Ramon, who died fighting in World War II, and Ramon warns that vengeful spirits tied to the family curse are angry. Unless Freddie acts within thirteen days, he and Ramon will be trapped in the coin for good. With the help of the ghost and his cousin Sharkey, Freddie sets out to learn the history behind the curse and find a way to break it before time runs out.
