Synopsis
Claire Danvers is a young, gifted student who has had enough of the dormitory, where the popular students make it clear she ranks near the bottom. She moves off campus into a large old house in Morganville, Texas, owned by a woman named Amelie. Her new roommates, Eve, Shane and Michael, seem oddly lifeless and keep strange hours. Claire soon learns that Morganville is run by vampires, and that humans must follow strict rules to avoid being fed upon. She also draws the attention of Monica Morrell, a cruel classmate. As the town's dark secrets begin to surface and a conflict between humans and vampires grows, Claire finds that her housemates are the ones standing between her and real danger.
