Synopsis

While dealing with a sister who has joined the suffragette movement, the latest mechanical invention of the inventor Madame Lefoux and a plague of zombie porcupines, Lady Alexia Maccon, the soulless preternatural married to the werewolf Lord Maccon, must save Queen Victoria from an angry ghost who wants her dead. The fourth book of the Parasol Protectorate, Gail Carriger's series of Alexia Tarabotti novels, followed by Timeless: a comedy of manners set in Victorian London, full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles and tea-drinking.

Notes

  • From the series record (Parasol Protectorate): A completed five-book steampunk/urban fantasy comedy-of-manners set in an alternate Victorian England where vampires and werewolves are a regulated part of polite society, following Alexia Tarabotti, a soulless woman whose touch neutralises supernatural powers, across marriage, motherhood, and widening supernatural politics.
