Synopsis
Hederick the Theocrat follows a religious zealot leading an inquisition in the treetop city of Solace, head of the Seeker faith, who vows to stop only when all who follow magic and the old gods are dead. He must confront a fraudulent priest who converted him, a fugitive thief, a mage who develops feelings for him despite their ideological opposition, and the mysterious power of the ancient vallenwood trees. The novel is part of the Villains series exploring how various antagonists became corrupted servants of Takhisis, the Queen of Darkness.
