Synopsis
The second novel in Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles finds Atticus O'Sullivan, the last Druid, trying to settle back into a quieter life in Tempe after his recent, very public victory over a Celtic god. That notoriety follows him: two rival Celtic goddesses each want his allegiance and are unwilling to take no for an answer, while two witch covens in the city move toward open war with each other, dragging Atticus into their feud. His apprentice, Granuaile, begins learning the fundamentals of Druidry as he juggles these obligations, and his talking Irish Wolfhound, Oberon, adds commentary throughout. A fallen angel operating near a local high school introduces a further, unexpected threat that Atticus cannot ignore.
