Synopsis
Ink continues the story begun in Vellum, following the same sprawling cast of newly awakened Unkin -- archetypal figures reincarnated across the many folds of the layered reality called the Vellum -- as the war between the old gods and the Covenant-aligned Angels, only beginning to gather in the first book, escalates further. Characters who played smaller roles in Vellum, including Joey Pechorin and Don MacChuill, take on greater importance as the narrative continues its non-linear structure, moving across different versions and echoes of the same handful of souls as they are pulled deeper into the conflict over the Book of All Hours and the fate it is said to record. The novel closes out the two-volume Book of All Hours sequence begun with Vellum.
