Synopsis
A year after their first adventure, Jim Button and Luke the engine driver are back on the island of Morrowland, with Luke's locomotive Emma and Jim's own small engine, Molly. A new journey takes them back across the strange lands they have come to know, to the Magnetic Cliffs, where stones from the rock face let them turn Emma into a machine that can fly, and to old friends such as Mr. Tur Tur, the apparent giant, and the half-dragon Nepomuk. While they are away, Molly is carried off by the Wild 13, the pirate gang once responsible for kidnapping children and selling them to the dragon Mrs. Grindtooth. The reformed dragon, now wise, tells Jim how he may learn about his own past, and with the Emperor of Mandala's help, and Princess Li Si stowing away, the friends set out after the pirates.
