Synopsis
Claire Danvers is working for her boss Myrnin, who is researching the Founder Houses in Morganville, when she learns that three of the town's vampires have disappeared. The last person seen with one of them is Magnus, a newcomer to town. After a tense meeting with him, Claire suspects that he is not simply human, though she cannot tell whether he is a vampire or something else entirely. Claire has to work out what Magnus is and what he wants before more of Morganville's vampires vanish.
