Synopsis
Festival Week, the fifth and final volume of the Liavek shared-world anthology edited by Emma Bull and Will Shetterly, gathers five stories built around the city of Liavek's calendar of festivals and the specific magical and social traditions tied to them. Interspersed among the stories are numerous poems by John M. Ford, continuing the series' mixture of prose and verse within the shared setting of the trade city on the Sea of Luck. As in the earlier volumes, the stories draw on Liavek's established magic system of inherited birth luck that residents must invest into external objects each year to work spells, using the occasion of festival time to bring together characters and storylines developed across the series' run.
