Synopsis
Magic for Liars, published by Sarah Gailey in 2019, follows Ivy Gamble, a private investigator with no magical talent of her own working in a world where magic is real and mostly closed off to people like her. When a teacher is found dead under violent, unexplained circumstances at the Osthorne Academy for Young Mages, Ivy is hired to investigate, a case that forces her back into uncomfortable contact with the magical world she has always been excluded from. Complicating the job further, the school employs Ivy's estranged twin sister Tabitha, a gifted magic teacher whose talents Ivy has spent years resenting from a distance, dragging old, unresolved family history directly into a professional investigation Ivy would rather keep strictly business.
