Synopsis

Fourteen-year-old Matt Freeman, in the village of Lesser Malling, finds that all his attempts to tell the authorities what is happening there are mysteriously thwarted. He learns that the villagers, including the Deverill sisters, belong to a cult that worships the Old Ones, demons who ruled the world before five children banished them more than ten thousand years ago, and that Lesser Malling was once home to a gate to their prison, Raven's Gate. The villagers intend to sacrifice Matt in a ritual to bring the Old Ones back to rule the world. The first book of The Power of Five.
