Synopsis
Set in 1920s Macon, Georgia, Ring Shout follows Maryse Boudreaux and two fellow hunters gifted with supernatural sight as they battle demonic entities called Ku Kluxes, monstrous beings that hide behind ordinary human faces and are drawn into the world by the hatred fueling the Ku Klux Klan's resurgence, whose numbers have swelled in the wake of the film The Birth of a Nation. Armed with a mystical blade and guided by a network of allies including bootleggers and fellow hunters, Maryse carries a weapon of her own tied to a painful personal history as she works to stop the Ku Kluxes before their growing presence culminates in a ritual meant to unleash something far more catastrophic than the Klan alone. Macon becomes the battleground for a fight that blends historical racial violence with cosmic horror.
