Synopsis
Princess Josetta of Welce spends her days working in the poorest districts of the city, far from the court that is her birthright. When foreign mercenaries attack Rafe Adova, a gambler who seems to have no elemental blessing at all, she nurses him back to health. The two grow close, but Rafe is being hunted, and as Josetta and Rafe learn why, they discover that his past could change both their lives and endanger the people around them. Josetta must weigh her duties as a royal against her feelings for him, while the powerful houses of Welce watch what she does.
