Synopsis
Roughly three months after the events of Seraphina, Seraphina sets out beyond her homeland of Goredd to find others like herself, people of mixed dragon and human heritage scattered across neighboring lands, hoping to unite them into a network that can help defend her kingdom as tensions escalate between dragons who support the peace with humans and a growing faction who oppose it. Her search brings her face to face with the very real danger of exposing her own nature while trying to earn the trust of others who have spent their lives hiding the same secret, each shaped differently by the isolation their heritage has forced on them. As the political and military stakes rise around her, Seraphina must decide how far to go, and whom to trust, to keep the fragile peace from collapsing into open war.

Notes
- From the series record (Seraphina): Internal chronology (per the books' own settings, not publication order): Among Ghosts (2025) is set roughly a century before Seraphina (2012) in the same world of dragons-in-human-form and human/dragon diplomacy; Shadow Scale (2015) directly continues Seraphina; Tess of the Road (2018) and its own sequel In the Serpent's Wake (2022) are same-world companion novels following a different protagonist. Publication order differs from this internal order; both are recorded, following this project's standing convention for a settled, author-established chronology divergence.
Neighbouring works
Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
- Publication order, within the series Seraphina: position 2 of 5: previous Seraphina (2012) · next Tess of the Road (2018)
- Internal chronology, within Seraphina: position 3 of 5: previous Seraphina (2012) · next Tess of the Road (2018)
