Synopsis
Shadowsinger concludes the Spellsong Cycle, drawing together the accumulated political and magical conflicts of Anna Marshall's rule in Erde as the series' recurring threats and rivalries reach their final resolution. Anna, now a seasoned sorceress-ruler shaped by the trials of the earlier novels, must draw on the full extent of her spellsong mastery and the alliances and territory she has secured to close out the struggles that have defined her time in Erde since her unexpected arrival as an outsider from Iowa. The final volume brings the cycle's exploration of music as magic, and of the personal and physical costs that power exacts, to its conclusion, following Anna's journey from an accidental transplant to an established power within Erde's contested political landscape.
