Synopsis
Shield of Sparrows introduces Odessa, princess of Quentis, who has long lived in the shadow of her more favored half-sister Mae. When her father arranges her marriage to Prince Zavier of the neighboring kingdom of Turah, ostensibly to secure a trade and military alliance, Odessa learns the match is also meant to serve as cover for a secret mission: infiltrating Turah to locate the source of the monsters migrating toward Quentis's borders and stop them before they cross into her homeland. As she travels toward her betrothed and adjusts to the unfamiliar Turan court, Odessa finds herself drawn to Zavier's bodyguard, known as the Guardian, complicating her sense of duty to both her family and her kingdom. Balancing a political marriage, a covert mission, and an unexpected attraction, Odessa must decide how far she will go to protect her people.
