Synopsis
After her father remarries, teenager Staci is sent by her new stepmother to live with her alcoholic mother in Silence, a dying Maine town that seems stuck in the past. Cell service works only on a bluff outside town, the internet is dial-up and there are no familiar shops. Her mother has grown worse since they last lived together. Staci finds a friendly waitress at the diner and a bookstore where a group of geeks and gamers gathers. Beneath the surface, though, terrible plots and dangerous players are at work, and Staci is pulled into the middle of them.
