Synopsis

The fifth and final volume of The Dark Is Rising sequence brings together the full cast of the earlier books, the Drew siblings, Will Stanton, Bran Davies and Merriman Lyon, converging in Wales as the long-building struggle between the Light and the Dark nears its climax. Having each played their part in recovering the Signs, the Grail and the Sleepers across the preceding volumes, the characters must now draw on everything gathered so far as the Dark makes its final, most dangerous bid for power. The novel weaves together threads of English and Welsh legend established throughout the sequence, including the ongoing significance of Bran's connection to Arthurian myth, as the combined company faces the culmination of a conflict that has shaped every book leading up to it.
