Synopsis
Echo Japonica is a young musician whose world has become unbearable. To escape it she imagines Snow City, an orderly, bright place where she can be anonymous and still find fulfilment, and she retreats into it until it becomes physical reality. Life there is peaceful at first. Then her past catches up with her in the form of Charity, a girl who has come back from the dead and is lost, and a gangster who loves Bach's Chaconne in D minor. A darkness begins to spread through the city, and when Charity's parents kidnap her to bury her again, Echo has to decide whether her refuge is as real or as safe as she believed and whom she can trust to help her.
