Synopsis

Sylva Lynn, a bookseller living an ordinary life in California, returns to her family's ancestral home in upstate New York after her grandfather's death, only to be drawn back into a magical heritage she carries as a woman part fairy herself, descended from the Lynn family at the center of Winter Rose. When the old protective magic guarding the family house from the fay finally fails, Sylva's young cousin is kidnapped and replaced with a changeling, a crisis only Sylva, with her mixed fairy lineage, is positioned to resolve. Forced to venture into the fairy realm on the other side of the boundary her family has guarded for generations, Sylva must navigate old bargains and new dangers to rescue her cousin and restore the fragile peace that has long protected her ancestral home from the fay just beyond its borders.
