Synopsis
Sealey Head is a small town at the edge of the ocean where a bell rings every evening at sunset, though no one has ever seen it. The scholar Ridley Dow comes to the town to study the mystery and stays at the inn run by Judd Cauley. Nearby stands Aislinn House, where the dying Lady Eglantyne lives and where the servant Emma Wood discovers that certain doors open onto another place, a castle of knights and princesses. There a princess named Ysabo lives under strict daily rules. As newcomers arrive and old secrets come to light, the people of the town and the inhabitants of the other world find their lives drawn together, and Ridley eventually crosses into the princess's world.
