Synopsis
As the Empire of Mann tightens its siege of the Free Ports, a crippled arbiter works to rally the democras's scattered allies, while Shard, the only Dreamer able to enter and shape the reality-bending Black Dream, searches for a way to turn the war. The assassin Ash undertakes a perilous voyage to the distant Isles of Sky, hoping against hope to reclaim something lost in the earlier books, in a quest that may hold the fate of the besieged Free Ports.
