Synopsis
Dana Faolan, the half-human, half-fairy heroine of The Light-Bearer's Daughter, has not adjusted to her new life in Toronto and uses her access to the land of Faerie as an escape. But the gateways between Faerie and the human world are being destroyed, and the only hope of ever bridging the two worlds again lies with her. In a dream, her fairy mother, Edane, tells her that the key to restoring the gateways is the Book of Dreams, which Irish settlers once brought with them to Upper Canada, and Dana must find it, questing across Canada while evading the dark forces that oppose her. It will take the help of all the protectors of Faerie, many of them familiar from the earlier Chronicles of Faerie, and of a mysterious French-Canadian boy, for Dana to meet the challenge of her destiny and save both her worlds. The concluding book of the series, Melling's first set in Canada.
