Synopsis
Nell Young was a cartography prodigy at the New York Public Library's Map Division until a feud with her father over an old map ended her place there. Years later she works in a Brooklyn print shop, estranged from him, when he is found dead with a rare 1930s gas station highway map hidden in a secret drawer. Nell begins to investigate and finds the map is tied to her parents' past. She also learns of a secret group called the Cartographers, who will pay or kill for the last remaining copy. The search leads her to a map dealer, to her former boyfriend Felix, and to Agloe, a fictional town planted on maps as a phantom settlement, where something strange waits.
