Synopsis
Hollis Brown is stuck. Born to a blue-collar version of the American Dream, he lives in a rotting small town in Michigan where no one can afford to leave, and his only bright spots are his two best friends, Annie and Yulia, and the thrill of fighting his classmates. Then the lives of Hollis, a boy in search of meaning, and Walt, a spirit with unfinished business, collide when Walt takes possession of Hollis’s body, and perhaps his heart as well. It is only a matter of time before Hollis’s friends begin to notice that something about him is not quite right, in a story that turns as much on the town and its ghosts as on the bond between the two boys.
