Synopsis
This is the second book in Caskey Russell's Raven and Eagle series, following The Door on the Sea. Elan, who was chosen by a talkative raven for a quest to save his people, has returned home changed and refuses to use the weapon he is destined to wield. As the invading Koosh draw closer, the raven turns to Kwa, Elan's prickly but tough companion, who is determined to become her people's warrior leader. Kwa plans an attack with the help of a wolf named Chetdyl. She believes she needs Elan's weapon and is willing to do whatever it takes to take it for herself, even if that means pushing Elan through the Door. Solaris published the hardcover in November 2026.

- From the series record (The Raven and Eagle): Tlingit-inspired epic fantasy debut. A second volume, The Eagle in the Mountain, has an announced cover and a September 22, 2026 release date but had not been published as of 2026-08-19; it is out of scope per this project's standing unpublished/announced-work rule until it actually ships, at which point a routine canon-maintenance pass should add it.
