Synopsis
Decades after Julian won the throne, his restless son, Prince Johan, is abducted by slavers following his Initiation Retreat and loses his sense of who he is. Meanwhile a fanatical army led by Mother Mahaliel marches on the coastal kingdom of Westria from the Sea of Grass. Johan, now with no memory of his past, travels with her forces. His childhood friend Luz sets out to find him and bring him home, and her efforts may decide the kingdom's fate. The novel is set in the same magical future California as the earlier books.
