Synopsis
Lord Malvern swore he would have revenge on Lachlan the Winged for the deaths of his brother and nephew, and now Lachlan is dead and his children have been stolen away: an evil necromancer has kidnapped the royal twins, plotting to spill their blood for revenge and to restore his own family to life. To rescue the heir Donncan, the Keybearer Isabeau and the Stargazer Cloudshadow must brave the perils of the Heart of Stars and travel back a thousand years in time. With the ruling MacCuinn clan torn apart, no one is left to stop Malvern but Rhiannon and her winged mare Blackthorn, and she must save the one woman she hates above all others, Princess Olwynne, her rival for Lewen's love, at the risk of everything she holds dear: Lewen, her mare, her freedom and her life. The final volume of the trilogy.
