Synopsis
For schoolteacher Thomas Abbey, son of a late film star, no writer equals Marshall France, the legendary author of brilliant children's fantasies who hid himself away in the small town of Galen, Missouri, and died of a heart attack at forty-four. His devotion to France and his books brings Thomas together with the puppeteer Saxony Gardner, and the two travel to Galen intending to write France's biography. There they discover that the magic of Marshall France has extended far beyond the printed page, leaving them with a terrifying task to undertake.
