Synopsis
The Moon Pool follows an expedition into a hidden underground realm after an advanced, ancient civilization dwelling within the Earth's core is found to have created a powerful, morally ambiguous entity known as the Dweller, or the Shining One, which has been capturing people on the surface and holding them in a mysterious stasis. Scientist Dr. Goodwin and pilot Larry O'Keefe pursue the entity's trail into this concealed underground world, encountering along the way both the benevolent, enigmatic Silent Ones and the seductive, dangerous priestess Yolara, who rules over the human-adjacent society they find beneath the surface. Their investigation into the Dweller's origins and purpose draws them deeper into a hidden civilization whose politics and ancient rivalries prove as dangerous as the entity itself.
