Synopsis
In the town of Stone-in-the-Glen, a long run of fires, droughts and blight has made people nervous and unkind, and the library has burned to the ground. When a child goes missing from the Orphan House, the charismatic Mayor tells everyone the blame lies with the Ogress who lives at the edge of town. The townspeople turn against her, but the orphans know she has been secretly leaving them gifts and baked goods. They set out to clear her name, and in doing so begin to suspect that the Mayor is not what he seems. Dragons, crows and long-held grudges all play a part in their effort to save the town before it tears itself apart.
