Synopsis
Theseus, now a pirate known as Captain Firebrand, is determined to end the rule of the wizards who hold Crete and force its neighbours to pay tribute in goods and slaves. After capturing Snish, a minor wizard able to change his own shape or anyone else's, he is shipwrecked on Crete's shores and must evade Talos, the robot guardian of the island. Disguised as a Norseman, he allows himself to be taken and sent to the Games, where the winner may claim the throne from the long-reigning King Minos and the hand of Minos' daughter Ariadne. Theseus wins the Games, but the maze of the Minotaur, the wizard Daedalus and the ambitions of the court stand between him and the kingdom.
