Synopsis
In the concluding novel of the original Pellinor sequence, Maerad works to solve the final riddle of the Treesong, the key to stopping the Nameless One before it can complete its conquest of the Seven Kingdoms, while her brother Hem, fleeing enemy forces elsewhere, endures betrayal and illness on his own path. Separated for much of the story, the siblings race to reunite as the war that has shaped both their lives approaches its climax, each carrying half of the knowledge needed to change its outcome. The novel draws together the threads of slavery, prophecy, and war introduced across the earlier books, following Maerad and Hem as they close in on a confrontation whose result will determine whether peace can be restored to their world.
