Synopsis

Set during the First World War, The Warm Hands of Ghosts follows Canadian combat nurse Laura Iven, who is recovering from injuries sustained on the front when she learns that her younger brother Freddie, a soldier believed killed in the trenches, may still be alive despite official reports of his death. Laura returns to the devastated landscape of the Western Front in 1918 to search for him herself, guided by eerie signs that something beyond ordinary explanation may be at work amid the war's destruction. As she investigates, Laura is drawn into a mystery that blurs the line between the historical horror of trench warfare and something stranger lingering at its edges, forcing her to reckon with grief, wartime bureaucracy, and half-glimpsed presences that seem to defy easy explanation.
