Synopsis
Having weathered New York City's first battle for its own existence, the newly awakened avatars of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island, along with the city's overarching primary avatar, now face a subtler and more insidious threat than open supernatural assault. The mysterious enemy that nearly destroyed the newborn city has not given up; instead it works through very human channels, backing a mayoral candidate who campaigns on gentrification, xenophobia, and a hard-edged vision of law and order that threatens to hollow the city out from within just as effectively as any monster could. To stop him and the force behind him, New York's avatars must reach beyond their own five boroughs and forge alliances with the living avatars of other great cities around the world, testing what solidarity between cities, and between neighbors, can actually accomplish.
