Synopsis

Tideborn continues the Fathomfolk series after a devastating tsunami and a dragon-fueled transformation leave the city of Tiankawi reeling, with its fathomfolk and human inhabitants still deeply divided despite the shared trauma of the disaster. Mira, the half-siren activist and former border guard captain introduced in the first book, works to help rebuild the fractured city while uncovering conspiracies that threaten to undo what little progress has been made toward fathomfolk equality. Meanwhile Nami, a dragon princess, undertakes a perilous voyage to try to prevent a mythical Titan from destroying the city outright, a threat that runs alongside the ongoing human-fathomfolk tensions the first novel established. The sequel widens the series' scope from Tiankawi's internal politics to a more immediate, world-threatening danger while keeping its focus on the same fractured city and its residents.
